Is it My Fault?

For the men wondering why his partner has asked for space, a divorce or connected with another man.

That question can eat a man alive.

It sounds simple, but it’s loaded.Because hidden inside it is blame, shame, justification… and if we’re honest, a quiet hope that maybe we can escape responsibility if we answer it the right way.

So let me answer it the way I had to learn to answer it:

No. It’s not all my fault. And yes… I am responsible.

Those two things get to exist at the same time.

I failed to care for my wife in the ways she needed. That’s real. I lost myself. I looked for validation outside of me. That’s real.

I didn’t lead myself. I didn’t live from my heart .And she felt that. She felt the insecurity, the hesitation, the lack of presence.

She didn’t feel safe. She didn’t feel seen. She didn’t feel heard.

And she deserved all of that.

Now here’s where most men either collapse… or rise. Did I make her find connection in another man? No!

That choice is hers. Always was. Always will be.

But I can still look at the road that got us there and say:“I own my part.”

Not from guilt. Not from shame. From power.

Because the moment you own my part… you take your life back.

Ownership Is the Way Out

Here’s the shift that changed everything for me:

You are responsible for everything in your life experience… even when it’s not your fault.

Sit with that. Because most people hear that and resist it. They think responsibility equals blame. It doesn’t.

Responsibility equals authority. If it’s all her fault, you’re stuck. If it’s all your fault, you drown in shame.

But if you say:

“I’m responsible for how I showed up, how I show up now, and who I choose to become next…”

Now you’ve got something to work with.

Now you’ve got leverage.

The Trap of the Past

“My wife wanted a divorce.”“My wife met another man.”

Those were real moments in my life.

But they are also… over.

And every time I bring them into today, I’m not remembering—I’m recreating.

I’m judging. I’m resisting. I’m trying to rewrite something that already happened.

This is what suffering actually is. Not the event itself.

But the constant mental replay of it.

And here’s the hard truth:

If you keep focusing on her past…You hand over your future.

Self-Trust Becomes the Foundation

Could it happen again?

Yeah.

She could leave. She could cheat again. .Life could flip upside down tomorrow.

That doesn’t go away.

What changes is this:

I trust myself now.

I trust the man I am. I trust how I’ll respond. I trust that no matter what happens, I won’t abandon myself again.

And that’s where real stability comes from. Not from controlling her.Not from predicting the future.

But from knowing:

“I’ve got me.”

Love, Reclaimed

This might be the part that challenges you the most. Because it challenged the hell out of me.

What if loving her…was never about her?

What if it was a standard you hold for yourself?

At first, loving a “confused” person felt unnatural. Forced, even. But what I discovered was this:

When I dropped the judgment…When I let go of resentment…When I stopped trying to control or fix her…And instead offered unconditional high regard

Everything shifted.

She stopped running.

Because there was nothing to run from anymore. My love wasn’t a reward for her behavior. It wasn’t a strategy. It wasn’t manipulation dressed up as “hope.”

It was a reflection of who I chose to be.

  • A man who knows his value.

  • A man who can forgive.

  • A man who doesn’t need to shrink others to feel strong.

The Truth About Negativity

Negativity feels justified. That’s why it’s so dangerous. Your brain will tell you:

“Stay guarded.”“Stay angry.”“Stay focused on what she did.”

Because it thinks it’s protecting you.

But in reality? It’s keeping you stuck.

Negative thoughts → negative feelings, and negative feelings → resistance, and resistance → no love, no grace, no movement.

And here’s the kicker:

You can’t create something new while clinging to what hurt you.

So Where Does That Leave You?

Right here:

You stop waiting for her to change. You stop replaying the past. You stop negotiating your worth based on her behavior.

And you start asking a different question:

“Who do I choose to be… regardless of what she does?”

Because that’s the only place your power has ever lived.

Here’s What I Offer You

You don’t need to have it all figured out. But you do need to decide:

Are you going to stay in the story…or step into ownership?

Because once you choose ownership, everything changes. Your energy changes. Your presence changes. Your relationships change. And most importantly…

You change!

If something in this hit you, if you can feel that tension between where you are and who you know you could be, then let’s talk. Not to fix you. Not to convince you of anything.

But to get clear.

Clear on your patterns. Clear on your blind spots. Clear on the man you’re actually becoming.

From there, everything else gets simpler.
